Care tips – Fittonia/Nerve plant

You can place this plant under

2) Bright indirect light (e.g. 1m away from the window)
Pour 75ml (1.5 bottles) every 2-3 days (8cm pot)

3) Medium light (e.g. 2-3 metres away from the window)
Pour 75ml (1.5 bottles) every 3-4 days (8cm pot)

Notes:
– Soil should be lightly moist but not flooded
– If fittonia droop, pour some water and they’ll perk up
– Adjust according to weather conditions and temperature of location
e.g. during rainy periods, rate of evaporation is lower so decrease watering volume/frequency slightly.
e.g. if your window area is warm, rate of evaporation of higher so increase watering volume/frequency slightly

For small pot (8cm in diameter), use half a teaspoon

Do not exceed as it will cause fertiliser burn

3/5
Low to high humidity is ok
Spraying is not a must
You can spray up to 3 times a day if you wish
Aircon environment is fine

40% perlite, 40% coco peat, 20% potting soil

Native to tropical rainforest in South America.

The most popular vein colour is silvery white but you can find veins in colours of red, pink, white and green.

Fittonia can survive in both open and enclosed terrarium containers.

Little baby leaves emerge from the middle of two adult leaves.

For propagation, take a stem or leaf cutting and partially submerge in water for roots to grow.

To prune, cut fittonia at the stalk but ensure there are still leaves to photosynthesize and make food for the plant.

Common problem: Underwatered, start to droop
Solution: Pour some water at the stem/roots and watch it “plump” up again

Common problem: Yellow leaves due to over watering
Solution: Reduce amount of water you pour or watering frequcncy

Problem: Leaf burn
Solution: Move it to a cooler location
