Car delivery (lead time 1-2 working days)
Item will be sent to your doorstep. Delivery will be done between 9-6pm.
We will leave the parcel at the door after 5 minutes if we’re unable to contact the recipient or the buyer, as the driver has to carry on with other deliveries. Please leave a note in the notes section at checkout if you want us to leave it on the shoe rack/riser when there is nobody around.
Otherwise, it’s best to input an address whereby there will surely be someone to collect the parcel, e.g. at your office. All deliveries to office addresses will take place during office hours.
Care tips:
Place at a location that’s cool and not bright e.g. study desk/bedside table
Top up water (buy brackish water from us) when water level runs low
Do full water change when algae takes up more than 50% of aquarium
About marimo moss balls:
Marimo moss balls are balls of algae with a velvety appearance. They can be found only in a few lakes in the world, such as in Japan, Scotland and Estonia. In Japan, marimo moss balls are commonly gifted amongst families, lovers and friends as they signify longevity and close bonds. They can live up to 200 years so some Japanese pass them down to the next generation as heirlooms. The circular motion of the sea currents keep them round. Marimo moss balls provide oxygen for the shrimps and has a micro bacteria film which the shrimps feed on.
About volcanic shrimps:
Volcanic shrimps originate from hawaii and are nicknamed “Supershrimps” because of their low maintenance and hardiness. Their life span in the wild is 20 years and in an aquarium, they can live up to 5-10 years. They feed on microalgae, bacteria and plankton in the aquarium so frequent water changing is not required. You just have to wipe away any algae that forms on the inner surface of the container. Conduct water change when algae occupies more than 50% of aquarium. They also do not need water pumps or ventilators, and are able to survive in low light environments. Volcanic shrimps provide the marimo moss balls with carbon dioxide so they can photosynthesize better.
